Abstract. At the present stage of development, the world community has faced the problem of plastic waste pollution more than ever before. Global plastic production continues to accelerate, despite the fact that recycling rates are comparatively low: only about 15% of the 400 million tonnes of plastic currently produced annually is recycled. Although plastic recycling rates have been steadily increasing over the past 30 years, the rate of global plastic production far exceeds this rate, meaning that more and more plastic ends up in landfills and ultimately in the environment, where it causes damage to the ecosystem. More efficient plastic waste disposal options are needed to support ongoing recycling efforts and change the plastic waste situation. To address this issue, various plastic waste recycling technologies are proposed and presented in detail in this paper.
