Abstract. The introduction of fuels for internal combustion engines with new types of octane-increasing components requires checking their compatibility with rubber products used in injection systems as sealing joints.
To assess the possibility of using motor gasolines with ethylene glycol mono-tert-butyl ether, their compatibility with sealing materials based on fluorine- and nitrile-butadiene rubber was assessed in comparison with motor gasolines containing methyl tert-butyl ether.
The tests were carried out using a method the meaning of which is the long-term influence of the test fuel on samples of sealing materials and the subsequent assessment of their physical properties.
It has been confirmed that the influence of gasoline mixtures with m-TBEEG on sealing materials of various compositions is comparable to the influence of mixtures with MTBE.
