Abstract. The article presents the possibility of modifying various petroleum bitumens with thermoplastic elastomers using a laboratory mixer with a high shear force, model L5M — A. Special Data Logger software allows you to record the time of complete dissolution of modifiers in petroleum bitumens.
Increasing the compounding temperature from 120 C to 150 C reduced the mixing time by 1.2 — 3.2 times. Dissolution of a radial chain modifier (structure) in bitumen takes 20% longer than a linear chain modifier (structure).The use of a special Duplex mixing nozzle reduces the time for complete dissolution of thermoplastic elastomers in petroleum bitumen by 2.2 — 3.3 times. The resulting samples of modified bitumen passed the homogeneity test according to paragraph 6.1 of GOST R 52056-2003.
