Abstract. The paper describes a method that allows you to measure the total oxygen content in hydrocarbon. The method is based on the neutron activation analysis. A prototype installation was created and tests showed that a full cycle of measurements can be carried out in just 60 seconds. The range of measured oxygen concentrations was from 0.01% to 100%. The results of measurements of oxygen content do not depend on chemical compound it is included in and do not depend on the state of aggregation of the substance under study. The installation is compact and can be installed in a minibus to be a mobile laboratory. The developed method can be put into practice to solve problems related to the control of oxygen or oxygen-containing substances in various hydrocarbon environments.
